Brookhaven RP Beginner's Guide: Houses, Cars, Roles and Safety

Brookhaven RP is one of Roblox’s most visited games, with tens of billions of visits on its Roblox page. There are no levels, quests or win screens. You pick a house, grab a car, and make up a story with whoever is on the server. That freedom is the appeal, and also why new players can feel lost for the first ten minutes.

This guide covers the basics and the safety settings parents ask about most.

What Brookhaven is (and isn’t)

The game’s own description sums it up: a place to roleplay with like-minded people, own and live in houses, drive vehicles, and explore the city. “Be whoever you want to be” is the whole goal.

That means:

  • No grinding. You don’t earn currency to unlock the map; most of it is open from the start.
  • The story comes from players. A “family,” a “police chase” or a “school day” happens because players agree to act it out.
  • Every server is different. If one feels chaotic, join another.

Your first ten minutes

  1. Join from the Roblox app or roblox.com. Search “Brookhaven” and check that the creator shows as Brookhaven by Voldex.
  2. Look around the menu. Brookhaven’s on-screen menu holds the main tools: houses, vehicles, avatar and roleplay options. Tap each icon once to learn the layout.
  3. Claim a house. Use the house menu to pick an empty plot and a house design. Many houses are free; some are paid upgrades.
  4. Spawn a vehicle. Open the vehicle menu, pick something free, and it appears next to you. Tap the seat to drive.
  5. Explore the town. Visit the shops, the school, the hospital and the other buildings. They’re the “sets” where roleplay happens.
You don't need Robux to enjoy Brookhaven. Free houses and vehicles are plenty to start, and you can decide later whether any paid extra is worth it.

Houses and vehicles

Houses. Each server has a set of plots. When you claim one, you choose the house design that goes on it. Recent updates added options like a free Villa house and a Military Base house with extras such as a helipad.

Vehicles. The vehicle menu includes everyday cars and bigger options, and updates keep adding more (the latest added military vehicles). Some vehicles are free; premium ones use Robux.

Props and tools. Players can place props and use tools for roleplay scenes. Private-server owners have extra controls over them (see below).

Roleplay jobs and ideas

Brookhaven doesn’t assign jobs. Players choose a role, often by changing outfits and heading to the matching building. Popular ones:

RoleWhere it happensSimple scene idea
Police officerPolice station, streetsDirecting traffic, a lost-pet search
Doctor or nurseHospitalCheck-ups after a bike crash
FirefighterFire stationRescuing someone from a “burning” house
Teacher or studentSchoolA class, a field trip around town
Shop workerStores and cafésRunning the register, taking orders
FamilyAny houseMoving day, a birthday party

Good RP etiquette: ask before joining someone’s story, don’t wreck other players’ scenes, and leave a house when the owner asks.

Private servers

The game page lists what a private server adds for its owner, including:

  • Saving props and locking or removing them.
  • Server-wide music and announcements.
  • Setting players as admins, and kicking or temporarily banning players.
  • Changing the day, time, weather and lighting.
  • Spawning up to three vehicles and a higher prop limit.
  • No wait time when changing houses.

For families, a private server is the easiest way to play Brookhaven with only friends and siblings. It costs Robux, so check with a parent before buying.

Staying safe in RP chat

Brookhaven is a social game, and that’s where most problems come from. Practical habits:

  1. Keep personal details out of the story. No real names, schools, ages or addresses, even “in character.”
  2. Leave weird scenes. If roleplay turns uncomfortable, walk away or switch servers. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.
  3. Block and report. Use the player list or Roblox menu to block, and Report Abuse for anything inappropriate.
  4. Ignore “free Robux” in chat. It’s always a scam; Roblox says so directly. See our guide to free-Robux scams.
  5. Never move to another app. Requests to “add me on another app” are a red flag to tell a parent about.

Parents: Roblox now requires an age check to use chat, and younger accounts have chat off unless a linked parent turns it on. Our parents’ guide walks through those settings, and the account security checklist covers 2-Step Verification.

What to try next

Frequently asked questions

Is Brookhaven free to play?

Yes. You can join, claim many houses, drive vehicles and roleplay without spending anything. Some houses, vehicles and extras are paid upgrades bought with Robux.

On Roblox the game is listed under the group Brookhaven by Voldex. Updates regularly add new houses, vehicles and props.
