Roblox Outfits Under 100 Robux: Build a Cheap Avatar That Looks Good
Updated 2026-10-06 · 4 min read
A good-looking Roblox avatar is mostly about choices, not spending. Free items, a tight color palette and two or three well-picked pieces beat a pile of random accessories every time. This guide shows how to build a look for under 100 Robux, or for nothing at all.
We don’t list item prices here, because creators change them often. Instead, you’ll learn how to make the Marketplace show you only what fits your budget.
Start with what’s free
Roblox’s Marketplace has a large selection of items that cost zero Robux, from faces and hair to shirts and accessories. To find them:
- Open Marketplace at the top of roblox.com (or in the Roblox app).
- Pick a category, such as Clothing, Accessories or Hair.
- Use the Price filter to show free items, or set a maximum price.
- Use Sorts to order by price or popularity.
- Check the Creator filter if you want items from a specific maker.
Roblox’s help center lists Sales Type, Creator, Price, Sorts and Unavailable Items as the filters you can combine.
Plan your look before you spend
Decide on a style in one sentence first: “sporty streetwear,” “cozy autumn,” “pirate captain.” Then fill each slot only once:
| Slot | Free-first tip | Worth spending on? |
|---|---|---|
| Face | Plenty of free faces cover most moods | Rarely |
| Hair | Free options exist; hair changes a look the most | Yes, if you spend on one thing |
| Top | Classic shirts are cheap; layered jackets look richer | Sometimes |
| Bottom | Plain pants in a matching color work with everything | Rarely |
| Shoes | Often skipped; a matching color is enough | Rarely |
| One accessory | A hat, glasses or back item to finish the look | Yes, one at most |
| Skin tone and body colors | Free in the Avatar editor | Never needed |
That table is the whole budget strategy: spend on hair and one standout accessory, keep everything else free or cheap.
Bundles vs single items
Bundles group several parts (often a body, head and sometimes accessories) into one purchase. Single items are one hat, one shirt, one hairstyle.
- Buy a bundle when you’ll actually use most of its parts.
- Skip it if you only want one piece. You can often get a similar single item for less.
- Look at the item’s details page before buying; it shows what’s included.
Layering: how cheap outfits look expensive
Roblox has two kinds of clothing: classic shirts and pants (flat designs printed on the avatar) and layered clothing (3D items like jackets and sweaters that wrap around the body). A few tricks:
- Classic base, layered top. A plain classic shirt under one layered jacket looks more expensive than either alone.
- Match three colors. Pick a main color, a second color and one accent. Use the free Skin Tone and body color options in the Avatar editor to tie it together.
- Less is more. The Avatar editor lets you wear several hats at once, but one or two accessories read better than five.
- Check every angle. Rotate your avatar before saving. Some layered items clip with certain bodies or other layers.
Where the savings come from
- Free items first, always. Many great looks cost zero.
- Keep an eye on events. Roblox and some games give out free avatar items during events. Our Roblox promo codes guide explains how genuine item codes work.
- Roblox Plus discounts. Roblox Plus subscribers get a percentage off purchases. It’s only worth it if you’d buy items anyway.
- Gift cards. Roblox says buying Robux on the web or with gift cards gives up to 25% more Robux than many in-app purchases. See our Robux to dollars guide for package details.
Want Robux without spending? There’s no free shortcut, but there are real options in legit ways to get Robux, and the warning signs are in our guide to free-Robux scams.
Saving and switching outfits
Once you like a look, save it as an outfit in the Avatar editor so you can switch back in one tap. Build a few: an everyday look, a roleplay look for games like Brookhaven, and a seasonal one. Fashion-themed games such as Dress To Impress are also fun for testing styles without spending at all; find more in our games by genre list.
A note for parents
Avatar items are the most common way kids spend Robux. A monthly spending limit and purchase notifications on a linked parent account keep it predictable. Our parents’ guide shows where those settings live.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find free items in the Roblox Marketplace?
Open the Marketplace, pick a category, then use the Price filter to show only free items or set a low maximum. Sorting by price low to high also helps.
Is a bundle cheaper than buying items one by one?
Sometimes. A bundle includes several parts in one purchase, so compare its price with what you would actually wear from it before deciding.
Do I need Roblox Plus to buy avatar items?
No. Anyone can buy Marketplace items with Robux. Roblox Plus subscribers get a discount on purchases, which only pays off if you spend regularly.
Why does my avatar look wrong after adding an item?
Some items clash with body types or other layers. Remove the last item, try it with a different body or outfit, and use the redraw option if the preview doesn't update.
