Can I redeem a Roblox gift card in the app?

Not in the standard mobile app or on consoles. Use a web browser at roblox.com/redeem. Roblox says the Samsung Galaxy Store version of the app does support it.

Does a US card work in Canada?

Yes. Roblox says gift cards from any country can be redeemed worldwide, and the value converts to the account's currency.

Do Roblox gift cards expire?

Roblox's Canadian gift card terms say Canadian cards do not expire and carry no fees. Check the back of your card and the terms for your country.

Can I get a refund on a gift card?

Roblox says gift cards are not refundable, and cards bought from unauthorized sellers or auction sites may not be honored.

Roblox Gift Cards in the US and Canada: Buying and Redeeming

A Roblox gift card is the easiest way for a parent to control spending: you pick the amount, your child redeems it, and no card details stay on the account. Gift cards also get the website bonus of up to 25% more Robux. Here is where to buy them in Canada, how to redeem them, and the scams that use them as bait.

Roblox's own gift card page says it plainly: Roblox gift cards are only redeemable for Robux or Roblox credit. Never use one to pay a debt or buy something outside Roblox, and never give the code to someone you do not know.

Where to buy

In Canada, Roblox sells digital gift cards at roblox.com/giftcards, and authorized retailers sell physical and digital cards in stores and online. Canadian cards are in Canadian dollars and, under Roblox’s Canadian terms, do not expire and carry no fees.

Rules that apply in both countries:

Buy only from authorized retailers or roblox.com/giftcards. Roblox says cards bought from unauthorized sellers or auction sites may not be honored.
Digital cards from Roblox’s site are delivered through its gift card partner, CashStar, so an email from that service is expected.
Amazon and Party Pack cards can only be used for Robux, not Roblox credit.

Robux card or credit card?

Robux gift card	Credit gift card
Gives	A set amount of Robux	A balance in CAD on the account
Spend on	Robux	Robux or Roblox Plus
Best for	A simple allowance	Letting a teen pick a package or a subscription
Website bonus	Yes, up to 25% more Robux	Yes, up to 25% more Robux

Roblox’s help center confirms gift cards get the web bonus, including cards bought before the bonus started in November 2024.

How to redeem a gift card

Open a web browser (computer, phone or tablet browser) and go to roblox.com/redeem.
Log in to the Roblox account that should receive the Robux or credit. Double-check the username first.
Scratch the card gently and type the PIN. Digital cards show the code in the email or receipt.
Click Redeem and confirm the new balance.
If it is credit, go to the Robux or Plus page and use the credit to buy.

Roblox notes that redeeming requires being 18 or older or having a parent or guardian’s consent. You can redeem several cards, one at a time.

When a code will not work

Roblox’s help center suggests checking for characters that look alike:

If you typed	Try
0	O
1	I
2	Z
5	S
6	G or Q
8	B

Also confirm you are on roblox.com/redeem and not a lookalike site. If it still fails, contact Roblox support with the card and receipt. Do not ask strangers online to “check” a code.

Gift card scams to know

These red flags come up again and again:

“Pay with a Roblox gift card” for anything outside Roblox: a fine, a bill, a “prize fee,” a debt. That is always a scam.
Someone asking for the code “to verify it,” “to add bonus Robux” or “to load it to your account for you.” A code is cash; once shared, it is gone.
Sites promising codes for free Robux. Roblox’s gift card page says codes for free Robux do not exist.
Cheap cards on auction or marketplace sites. They may be stolen or already used, and Roblox may not honor them.
Fake redeem pages that ask for your Roblox password along with the code. The real page only needs you logged in on roblox.com.

What to tell kids: a gift card code is money, it only goes into roblox.com/redeem, and a grown-up should be there when it does. More on this in why generator sites are scams and the parents’ guide.

Gifting Robux directly

Roblox has a separate gift Robux link feature in the United States for select users. The requester must be 18+, and the gifter must be 18+, a US resident and phone-verified. Roblox says it uses standard pricing without the web bonus, sales are final, and prepaid cards are not accepted. For most families, a physical or digital gift card is simpler.
